When I first joined community pharmacy, I thought the work would mainly revolve around prescriptions from doctors. But with time, I noticed that patients rarely walk into pharmacies with prescriptions alone. Many describe symptoms, explain their struggles or simply ask for help.
That experience completely changed the way I understood pharmacy.
I started paying closer attention to the kinds of questions patients asked, the mistakes people made with medicines, the fears they carried and the everyday healthcare challenges they faced. I came to understand that pharmacy is not only science, it is also an art — one built on listening, understanding and making the best possible decisions for the people we serve.
Over the years, I have worked with well-established pharmacies, growing pharmacies and those starting from scratch. One thing that continues to stand out is consistency in what you promise to offer people. Whether it is patient care, professionalism, communication or service, trust remains one of the most important parts of modern pharmacy.
This platform is where I share my experiences, observations and lessons from community pharmacy in the simplest way possible. I write about modern pharmacy, patient interactions, business, healthcare realities, communication, systems, personal growth and the hidden side of working behind the counter.
Nobody really warns you how quickly time flies in community pharmacy or how difficult it can sometimes be to balance work, life and responsibility. What keeps me going is knowing that I am using my time, experience and profits to help those in need.
More importantly, I write because I believe there is still a lot about pharmacy that people do not fully understand.
And maybe that is the interesting part.
There is far more to pharmacy hidden behind the counter than most people realize.
