Uses:
Treatment of infections caused by susceptible organisms, including:

Lower respiratory tract infections

Dosage:
Adults & children ≥12 years:
Mild to moderate infections: 625 mg twice daily
Dentoalveolar abscess: 625 mg twice daily for 5 days
Administer with food to reduce GI side effects and optimize absorption
Side Effects:

Common: Diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, rash, urticaria, headache

Rare: Liver enzyme elevation, cholestatic jaundice, crystalluria, interstitial nephritis
Warnings & Precautions:

Caution in renal or hepatic impairment

Risk of pseudomembranous colitis

Avoid in infectious mononucleosis (may cause rash)

Monitor organ functions during prolonged use
Pregnancy & Lactation:

Pregnancy: Category B – Use only if clearly needed

Lactation: Generally safe; trace amounts may cause sensitization

Probenecid: Increases amoxicillin levels

Allopurinol: Increased risk of rash
