Uses:

Type 2 diabetes mellitus — improves blood sugar control when single therapy is inadequate

Dosage:

Adults: Usually 1 tablet once or twice daily with meals; dose adjusted based on blood glucose
Children: Not routinely recommended

Side Effects:

Hypoglycaemia
Nausea, diarrhoea, abdominal discomfort
Weight gain (glimepiride)
Metallic taste (metformin)

Warnings & Precautions:

Take with meals to reduce stomach upset
Risk of hypoglycaemia — do not skip meals
