Symptomatic relief of painful and inflammatory conditions of the mouth and throat with minor infection, including:

  • Sore throat (pharyngitis), tonsillitis symptoms.
  • Mouth ulcers (aphthous/stomatitis), gum inflammation (gingivitis).
  • Post-dental procedures, trauma, or irritation.
  • Painful swallowing, inflammation from infections/colds.
  • Reduces plaque buildup and supports oral hygiene (via chlorhexidine).
    Not for severe bacterial infections (may need systemic antibiotics) or long-term use without supervision.

Dosage:

(for adults/children >6 years; do not swallow—expel after use; repeat every 1½–3 hours as needed; max 7 days uninterrupted without medical advice):

Rinse/Gargle: 15 mL (about 1 tablespoon); gargle or swirl in mouth for at least 30 seconds, then expel. For oral lesions, hold and swirl.
Children 6–12 years: 5–15 mL rinse/gargle or adjusted spray (if able); consult pharmacist/doctor.
Not recommended under 6 years. If stinging occurs, dilute rinse with water. Shake well; avoid eyes.

Side Effects:

Common (local, often mild/transient): Oral numbness (from benzydamine), burning/stinging sensation, dryness/thirst, tingling, altered taste, warm feeling in mouth.
Less common: Nausea/vomiting (if swallowed), rash/itching, skin swelling/redness.
Serious (rare): Hypersensitivity reactions (urticaria, photosensitivity, bronchospasm, anaphylaxis—difficulty breathing, swelling, seek immediate care); teeth staining/discoloration (with prolonged chlorhexidine use); severe allergic signs.

Warnings & Precautions:

Do not swallow large amounts (contains alcohol ~9% v/v in some; equivalent to small alcohol dose).
Avoid in hypersensitivity to benzydamine, chlorhexidine, salicylates/NSAIDs (cross-reactivity possible), or excipients.
Use caution in asthma (risk of bronchospasm).
