Uses:

Cilvas (cilnidipine) is prescribed for patients at risk of vascular damage caused by hypertension.

Dosage:

The normal cilvas dosage for an adult patient is 5 to 10mg once daily after breakfast.

The dose can be increased or reduced according to the age of patient and their symptoms. If the above dose is not effective enough, the dose can be increased to 10mg once daily.

For severe hypertension, 10 to 20mg of cilnidipine orally once daily after breakfast

Side Effects:

The following side effects can occur: dizziness, headache, cardipalmus and puffiness which can be tolerated by most patients.

Warnings & Precautions:

Overdosing may cause cilvas toxicity. Treatment should be symptomatic and supportive.

Drug Interactions:

Quinidine, Phenytoin, Rifampicin, Erythromycin), Amlodipine

Contraindications:

Cilvas is contraindicated in patients who are hypersensitive to any component of this product.
