Appetite stimulant
Dosage:
Children (2 to 6 years): 2.5ml to 5ml to be given 2 to 3 times a day as directed by the physician.
Children (7 to 12 years): 10ml to be given 2 to 3 times a day or as directed by the physician.
Adults and children (above 12 years): 10mls to taken 3 times a day or as directed by the physician.
Direction for use: replace cap immediately after each use. SHAKE WELL BEFORE USE.
Side Effects:
Confusion, hallucinations, restlessness, blurred vision, fainting, unusual or irregular pulse, wheezing, dried mouth, dry nose, drowsiness, may be observed (often transient).
Warnings & Precautions:
Interference with tests: cyproheptadine reduced hypoglycaemia-induced growth hormone secretion, between 5 and 97% in healthy subjects. Hence it was suggested that if patients receiving cyproheptadine were given a pituitary function test that used growth hormone response to insulin-induced hypoglycaemia then cyproheptadine therapy should be stopped before the test.
Pregnancy & Lactation:
Cypro B plus syrup is contraindicated in pregnancy and lactation.
Drug Interactions:
Monoamine oxidase inhibitors prolong and intensify the anticholinergic effects of antihistamines. Antihistamine may have additive effects with alcohol and other central nervous system depressants, e.g. hypnotics, sedatives, traquilizers, anxiety agents.
Contraindications:
Cypro b plus syrup is contraindicated in; newborn or premature infants, pregnancy and lactation, in those patients who have shown hypersensitivity to any of the ingredients used in cypro b plus syrup.

Pharmacology
Cyproheptadine is an antihistaminic, anticholinergic, and antiserotonergic agent.
Cyproheptadine is used to stimulate appetite. Vitamin B-complex acts as coenzyme in metabolic reactions and also helps improve appetite and body weight.
Over dosage and treatment of overdose
Do not exceed the recommended dose. In case of over dosage consult physician immediately.
