Uses:
Emergency contraceptive in women.
Dosage:
One tablet of Ecee 2 should be taken orally within 72 hours after unprotected intercourse. The second tablet of Ecee 2 should be taken 12 hours after the first dose.
Ecee 2 can be used anytime during the menstrual cycle.
The woman should be instructed that if she vomits within one hour after taking either dose of medication, the attending doctor should be contacted to discuss whether to repeat the dose of Ecee 2.
Side Effects:
Nausea, abdominal pain, fatigue, headache and menstrual changes are common side effects of Ecee 2.

Warnings & Precautions:
Ecee 2 is recommended as a onetime contraceptive method following unprotected intercourse. It is neither recommended for routine use as contraceptive nor is it effective in terminating an existing pregnancy.
Pregnancy & Lactation:
Ecee 2 is not an abortifacient, there is no justification for administration of Ecee 2 in pregnant women.
Lactation: Small amounts of the drug is excreted in milk in women using long-term progestin. However there is no effect on the infant has been recorded
Drug Interactions:
Coadministration with rifampicin, phenytoin, carbamazepine reduce efficacy of contraceptive. There is no significant interaction with wide spectrum antibiotics.
Contraindications:
Do not use in pregnant women and children. Driving and operating machines. Fatigue and headache have been rarely reported.
