Drug Interaction
Nystatin: Imidazole type antifungal agents such as clotrimazole inhibits the synthesis of fungal steror ergosterol while the therapeutic actions of polyene antifungals such as amphotericin B and nystatin result from the binding to the ergosterol. There is the potential that clotrimazole may inhibit the antifungal effects of ampotericin B or nystatin, an interaction between systemic ampotericin B and topical clotrimazole is unlikely due to the limited systemic absorption of clotrimazole.
